Our History
The ICON Online Championships (IOC) was conceived in November 2014 and the first online leaderboard competition began in January 2015. The first competition saw over 1,000 entrants compete across Europe to be crowned the ICON Online Champion!
Rather than the competition being staged at a specific venue, it is set-up as an online leaderboard-style competition that allows entrants to do the workout in their very own CrossFit gym, in their own time, and submit their score online. The online aspect allows individuals from all over Europe to compete against each other in a fun yet challenging way.
The IOC is unlike all the other competitions and throwdowns in several ways; namely, it's free to enter, and the WODs are designed in a way to encourage people of all fitness levels to take part, not just the elite.
ICON Nutrition fully own and run the competition as a love for the sport of CrossFit. They don't charge to enter and never will. The IOC is driven by the community and its affiliates. Without them, the ICON Online Championships couldn't and wouldn't exist.
