If you’ve loved Hibernate’s original formula, don’t worry, it’s still the same incredible product that supports recovery and restful sleep. The change is part of our commitment to transparency, inclusivity, and making sure everyone can access the best possible version of Hibernate.
What is 5-HTP, and Why Was It in Hibernate?
5-HTP (5-Hydroxytryptophan) is a compound that helps the body produce serotonin, which in turn can support relaxation and sleep quality. It was originally included in Hibernate to enhance its ability to promote better rest.
However, recent regulatory updates and feedback from customers have led us to rethink its inclusion. We’re now offering Hibernate without 5-HTP, providing the same recovery and sleep benefits in a formula that’s more widely accessible.
Why We Removed 5-HTP
1. Regulatory Guidelines
Changes to guidelines for selling supplements in the EU and on platforms like Amazon have made it more challenging to include 5-HTP in powder products. Removing it ensures Hibernate remains widely available to customers in the UK, EU, and beyond.
2. Broader Accessibility
While many customers have loved the original Hibernate formula, some individuals prefer to avoid 5-HTP due to sensitivities or medical reasons. By removing it, we’ve created a version that’s suitable for everyone while still delivering top-tier recovery and sleep support.
3. Same Great Benefits, Cleaner Formula
The updated Hibernate formula retains its focus on recovery and relaxation, with its slow-digesting casein protein delivering essential nutrients to your muscles overnight. Combined with the new Cinnamon Vanilla Swirl and Double Chocolate Brownie flavours, Hibernate remains the ultimate night-time recovery companion.
For Now, You Have Both Options
We understand that change can feel uncertain, so we’re offering both versions of Hibernate, with and without 5-HTP for the time being. This allows you to choose the formula that best suits your needs while we gather customer feedback on the transition.
Our goal is to make this change as smooth as possible while continuing to provide a product you can trust. If the no-5-HTP version proves popular, we may fully transition to this formula in the future.
